![]() Molly DeanMolly Dean’s quest for the supremacy of sound has taken her to the Arctic shores of an Alaskan town and back again to the intimate club scene in the Twin Cities. Guided by her sultry, ethereal voice, Molly’s music eschews easy classification, combining elements of folk, pop and blues into deceivingly simple songs. Writing from the piano and guitar, and incorporating an RC 50 Loop Station both live and in the studio, Molly creates soundscapes that explore ambient textures as much as Americana. Her live shows compel captivation and her forthcoming album expands upon her rapidly developing songwriting talents. Molly frequently performs with local cellist Dan Zamzow (Liminal Phase, Deep Soul Deities), creating a unique, yet subtle sound palette. Molly was recognized as the KFAI Female Folk Artist of the Month in December 2008 and was the recipient of an emerging songwriter’s grant from the Grove Foundation. Molly Dean has opened for and performed with revered artists including Keri Noble, Michelle Branch, The Honeydogs, Pat Donahue, Billy McLaughlin and Daphe Willis. |
